The scene of the pits in an apocalyptic night, shaking the audience bluntly



"The son of Saul" is how a film of tipping forward: the stay protagonist launches headlong into his quest for the rabbi. It is with great intensity than the throngs LászlóNemes films in which his character is entangled.

Saul is buffeted by chaos and also restrained by his comrades: we often see the challenge, question it, bring it back to its place. But he remains focused in the ambient disorder: the focusing of the camera as a film format reflects a thought that moves and that overcomes limitations.


The square image by Xavier Dolan in "Mommy" was that of a restriction, it is instead evasion by LászlóNemes: that of a man who defies the barriers of inhumanity to restore body and soul sound humanity.


"We are already dead," Saul replies to his critics. This may explain the energy that characterizes it: having nothing to hope for, he does not have to give ourselves completely to a cause in the moment?

Being passive, Saul becomes active character. His schedule now has another goal: to provide a burial for the child.

It will incessantly screen center as mad project is at the center of its concerns, the focus of the camera is also his: he rejects it in the dark knows too (all these dead bodies, one account for it) to devote himself to the clear thinking of its mission. Even endangering his life as that of others.
