Michael Obert, your documentary is listed for the German Film Prize. Did that surprise you?

Just you have a story about mutilations of albinos in Tanzania written in SZ magazine. In it you will notice that it uses the clichés of the dark, violent Africa. Why did you write that then, as you go with the cliché about?

The travel magazine sellers and crisis Reporter Michael Obert has never done a movie. Now his first nominated on the longlist for the German Film Prize. Today the documentary "Song From The Forest" runs in New York and the United States. Louis Sarno, the film protagonist, travels to from the Central African rainforest, Michael Obert breaks from Berlin there on. Previously, we drink a pot of tea together.

That's the hammer! None of us has ever done such a thing before. When I Alex, a friend, told the story of Louis Sarno, said immediately, this is a movie! We had not a cent, and all do not know. I come from writing and have never made director, Alex has never produced right down to small things, the camerawoman had little experience. We just losgelegt. Then that was getting bigger, the strength of the story has all the infected, eventually also funders, we suddenly had enough to rotate. We worked all quasi vain, but that is widely used in the documentary film.
